GM Michael Adams won the 1st Metropolitan International (August 17-21), with 7.5/9, a full point ahead of the field. GM Loek Van Wely, GM Timur Gareev, GM Robert Ruck, GM Dejan Bojkov, GM Mesgen Amanov and IM Conrad Holt tied for 2nd-7th with 6.5/9*. Washington's Michael Lee achieved an IM norm, the only norm reached.
